OVERVIEW

The primary objective of this mission trip will be to share the Gospel with a very unique people group, namely Mormons.  We will be going to their home territory and sharing the Gospel with them in a context where there may be about 100 Christians but about 10 thousand Mormons. Because this trip requires specialized training to be able to communicate the Gospel effectively to such a difficult ideological context in the midst of a potentially intimidating location, we are REQUIRING all participants to undergo training. Not only must potential missionaries attend all training sessions, but even if they’ve trained in previous years, all must also undergo an interview / interview(s) to assure that they understand Christian theology first, Mormon ideology second, and how to communicate the Truth into the Mormon culture. The missionaries must also show evidence of a growing relationship with Christ. These are important first steps and we will do whatever possible to accommodate schedules and any other hindrance to attending the training, but we steadfastly affirm its necessity.

To register, one should first become familiar with the training requirements, the financial commitment, and the basic schedule – in other words read the information pack that was handed out -- to determine if the trip is something you believe God may give you the ability to attend. We will aid those in need in any way we can, from tutoring in training to providing fundraising opportunities if money is an issue!

Scripture Memory

May 13-19, 2013
Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” (Romans 12:17-19 ESV, FV 3.20)
